Track crew attendance and working hours across construction sites
Subcontract crews move between projects, and the sign-in sheet usually stays in the cabin. Construction worker attendance tracking in TimeTapIn puts a QR code at each project site so the hours are on the right job when you prepare payroll.

Project hours stay in the cabin
The crew was on site. Payroll preparation still waits on a sheet, a photo, or someone’s memory of the week.
The sign-in sheet never leaves the site
A paper list in the cabin is easy to start and easy to lose. Photographing it at month-end is a second job.
Two projects, one unclear week
When a crew splits time across sites, hours land on the wrong job unless each site has its own record.
Foremen collect times in chats
Messages about who arrived are hard to turn into hours for each project.
How crew attendance is recorded
This is attendance and working hours. It is not site access control, a safety-certificate check, or a project plan.
Display a unique QR code at each project site
Add the jobs you are on. Each site gets its own code. Leave the printed code where the crew signs in, such as the cabin.
Each worker scans and enters their company PIN
They use a phone camera. There is no worker app. The company PIN identifies who is clocking in.
They select Start or Finish
Start and Finish are stored against that project site. A person who moves to another job scans the code at that site.
The office reviews hours for payroll preparation
Managers review attendance by worker and by site, correct a missed tap, and export a site-based Excel report. The file is for preparing payroll, not for paying people inside TimeTapIn.
What subcontractors can run
A scan records attendance at that project. It does not grant access, check a safety certificate, or manage the job.
A code per project site
Hours from two sites in one week stay separated because each site has its own QR code.
No app for the crew
Workers scan, enter their company PIN, and select Start or Finish. Nothing is installed.
Optional location check
Location verification is off unless you enable it for a site. When it is on, the phone’s location is checked at check-in and check-out. It does not track the crew around the site.
Correct a missed start or finish
Review the record and correct the time when a tap was forgotten. The correction is an attendance edit, not a site diary.
Excel hours by site
Export site-based reports when you prepare payroll. TimeTapIn does not pay wages or file taxes.
A 30-day free pilot
A new company account includes a 30-day free pilot. Put a code in one site cabin, share company PINs with the crew, and review a week of hours before you continue.
Illustrative example
A crew split across two projects
Picture a subcontract crew with most people at Project North and two people sent to Project East for the afternoon. Each project has a QR code in the cabin. Workers scan the code at the site they are on, enter their company PIN, and select Start or Finish. The office sees the hours on the matching project and exports an Excel report when preparing payroll. Nobody is granted gate access by the scan, and no certificate is checked.
Questions from construction subcontractors
Does the crew need an app?
No. They scan the project QR code with a phone camera, enter their company PIN, and select Start or Finish.
Can hours be kept separate for each project?
Yes. Each construction site has its own QR code, so attendance is stored against that site.
Does a scan control access or check safety certificates?
No. It records attendance and a start or finish time. It does not grant site access, verify certifications, or manage the project.
Is location verification a tracker for the site?
No. It is optional. When you turn it on for a site, the phone’s location is checked at check-in and check-out only.
What if someone forgets to finish?
A manager can review and correct the record. A corrected interval is still an attendance record. It does not prove the person was working the entire time.
Can we export hours for payroll preparation?
Yes. Export site-based Excel reports of working hours. TimeTapIn does not pay salaries or file taxes.
